Bio
Dr. Susan Cornelius received her Associates degree in Arts in Correctional and Juvenile Justice Studies in May 1999, her Bachelor of Science in Correctional and Juvenile Justice Studies Minor in Psychology in August 2000, a Master of Science in Career and Technical Education Occupational Training and Development Option in July 2006, and an Ed.D Educational Leadership Policy Studies in December 2016. She started her career at EKU in the Office of the Registrar in 1997-1998, then moved to the Juvenile Justice Training Center Project from 1998-2002, then the EKU Training Resource Center from 2002- 2005. She landed in the Workforce Development and Community Engagement department in 2005 where she is now the senior director.

Dr. Cornelius is senior director of Workforce Development and Community Engagement at EKU. Workforce Development and Community Engagement encompasses Community Education, the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, Workforce Development, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers. She has over 25 years of experience implementing training strategies for business and industry partners at the university.
Dr. Cornelius is a native of Harlan County and a four-time EKU graduate, most recently completing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She is passionate about providing educational initiatives to provide life-long learning opportunities. Dr. Cornelius is equally passionate about spending time with her husband and three children on their family farm.
